The main attraction here, is the Ranakpur Jain Temple which is one of the five most important Jain shrines in the country. Dedicated to the first Tirthankara of Jains, this temple is only 10kms from V Resorts Aranyawas. Cradled in the Aravali hills besides the forest and river Magha, the white temple is tall and imposing. The main temples to see in the complex include Chaumukha temple, Parsvanath temple, Neminath temple, Amba temple and Surya temple.
If you have more time, head to either Udaipur (81.8 kms) and Kumbhalgarh (26.2 kms), which are popular tourist spots. In Udaipur, visit the City Palace & Fort, take a walk on the banks of Lake Pichola and pay your respect at the Jagdish Temple, which is located near the City Palace’s Badi Pol entrance. There are a host of shops near the City Palace for those who want to buy handicrafts, apparels or even stationery.
In Kumbhalgarh, the star attractions are the Kumbhalgarh Fort, which boasts of palaces, temples and even a wildlife park all within its confines. Considered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you can easily spend the entire day exploring the fort. Highly recommended! |
